I’m forever blowing bubbles

After weeks of keeping our distance from strangers and friends alike, we can now form ‘support bubbles’ with another household. But, only one household, and only one person. If two parents live together, they can’t ‘bubble’ with their child, unless their child lives alone. One grandparent living alone can ‘bubble’ with their son or daughter’s whole family, but two grandparents living together can’t. Whilst any relaxing of the rules that allows even a very small step back towards normal behaviour is very welcome this change will mean some families, and friends, have to make some difficult choices. If parents or grandparents don’t live together, which do you choose to join your bubble? If you’re a parent our grandparent living alone, which of your children do you choose – or do they choose you? You can’t choose one lot one week and another the following week. These choices are fixed for the foreseeable future – until hopefully more rules are relaxed and we take another step towards freedom and normality – whatever that will end up looking like.

How have your family and friends made their bubble decisions? I’d love to hear your solutions to the ‘support bubble’ conundrum, so let me know in the comments below.
